Ingredients
3 Tablespoons of butter
2 and a half Tablespoons of flour
6 peppercorns
1 and a half teaspoons of salt
1 bay leaf
1 medium onion or 3 shallots
2 cups milk
Method:
In a saucepan melt 3 tablespoons of butter, then blend in 2 1/2 tablespoons of flour, one medium-sized onion minced fine, 1 bay leaf, 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt. Stir constantly over a low flame for 8-10 minutes, then remove the bay leaf. Slowly stir in two cups of milk that has been preheated until steam rises from it. Continue to stir sauce for 15 mins over a low flame. Strain and place in a glacé jar in the fridge.
